Vital Impact Precision, LLC (VIP) was founded by Miguel “Mike” Sotello who served nearly 24 years in the United States Navy, 20 years of which were with Naval Special Warfare. He served at multiple West Coast based SEAL teams with many deployments in support of the Global War on Terror. Mike retired from the Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer in November of 2023.
He founded Vital Impact Precision (VIP), LLC to offer unmatched training on world class ranges and to foster a sense of community and camaraderie among like-minded individuals who share a passion for shooting, hunting, and the great outdoors. VIP’s mission is simple – to dramatically increase hunters’ ethical kill range – and anything less is unacceptable. VIP’s cadre of instructors includes veteran US Special Operations Forces members, all of which were sniper instructors, avid hunters, and competetive shooters.
VIP has partnered with two incredible ranches in order to create elite-level training sites and curriculum for hunters and shooters who seek to become long-range hunters. Our flagship training academy will be on the Wolf Creek Matador Ranch just west of Roaring Springs, TX. This location will be optimal for clients from Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, and Oklahoma due to proximity of the ranch. The Wolf Creek Division of the historic Matador Ranch sits on the southwestern most side of the massive and incredible Palo Duro Canyon. The western edge of the ranch is where the caprock escarpment transitions to the Staked Plains of Texas (or Llano Estacado), which makes for rugged yet majestic scenery. Clients will be able to take in the scenery from the porch of the beautiful ~4,000 sq ft barndominium, which will house 12 shooters and up to 4 instructor cadre.
In addition to the Hunter’s Marksmanship Academy, VIP offers Military and Law Enforcement training, and custom rifle packages. More to come on these future developments.
Mike currently resides in his hometown of Boerne, Texas outside of San Antonio with his loving wife of 18 years, two amazing children, and two dogs.
